[ good bye 2011... ]

... and Hello New Year!
Wherever you are, however you celebrate, whatever your resolutions are... I wish you a wonderful 2012!
I'm in the Swiss mountains with friends & lots of snow. Niiicccce! Cheers!

[ in the blink of an eye ]

If you followed my blog you can tell that I like paper-cutting a lot....

I never figured to put something like this as fake eyelashes ... I probably wouldn't wear them myself but I still think it looks amazing, one way or the other, and deserves a post!
The "eyelashes" are available in 10 different styles, each pattern represents a Chinese symbol, e.g. birds symbolise happiness & fulfilment.

... and if you actually chose to wear them, I'm sure these lashes are guaranteed to turn heads!

Click here to get them for your next party, also available at "Opening Ceremony", Store Soho.

[ les gouaches de CHANEL ]

I'm a lipstick girl... always have been. And yes, my lipstick collection is quite big, but somehow there is always space for a new colour ;)
My favourite thing is my gouache "paint" box from CHANEL... I just mix my own colour the way I like it. So smart.
I worship this box (I have it for ages), not sure Chanel is still doing this arty make-up kit...
I agree it's not the easiest way to put on lipstick but probably the most fun!

[ j'aime ]

I know, right now I can't have enough of GIVENCHY
Love this bag so much.....  what an attitude!

[ moonlight ]

It's funny, I discovered  LIZZIE FORTUNATO through her bag collection, even though she's (more) famous for her jewelry line...
Here one of my favourite pieces, this necklace is sublime.
Really like it on this colourless shirtdress (by Isabel Marant). Wow.

[ RUBY red desire ]

"I've got a ruby red desire
Like a virus like my last hope
I've got a ruby red desire
I've got to hear the red bird sing
I've got to rip this cord
And rinse this lazy blood
Clear a path and walk away

[Chorus]
I've been waiting for the sky to fall
I've been thinking I could lose it all
I've been waiting for the safety net
Tell myself that I'm not ready yet
.........."

When I discovered those loafers, it reminded me of a song I used to listen to a LOT... "Ruby Red" by Heather Nova.
Not that the lyrics have anything to do with shoes.... ;)

I'm a huge believer that loafers are the new must-have-flats. I've always struggeled wearing Ballerinas, it just doesn't suit me, but loafers are a whole different story... dandy-like & super cool in this shiny woven leather!

[ the great gatsby ]

I always considered OLYMPIA LE-TAN's clutches fascinating...
maybe because I love books & bags and this is the perfect combination? Just kidding, I don't think that's the reason... but I do believe her clutches to be of beautiful craftsmanship. Her "library" of clutches is quite unique & the vintage-inspired style a good way to give a playful touch to every look!
It's only the price that makes me flinch ... and it's for sure this clutch will stay forever on my wish list. But that's okay.

Above Olympia Le-Tan is paying homage to F. Scott Fitzgerald's famous book "The Great Gatsby".

[ hysteria ]

Remember the "colour-by-numbers Christmas card"?
I'm a huge fan of the artist/illustrator Elli Egilsson, aka AC BANANAS... so here some of my favourite work. This was an editorial collaboration between the artist & the talented Liam MF Warwick for Hysteria Magazine.
Such a powerful work I'm absolutely taken in!

[ spike up my life ]

well... that's some crazy i-Phone case! It's like showing everyone "back off if I'm not yours"!!
I'm wondering if that's actually handy ;)
Anyway, I love the spikes.

[ more white ]

More white hair that I love love love....

[ snow WHITE ]

These pictures are behind the scene moments of the ROSEARK lookbook photoshoot.
I like their jewelry line a lot... but in these pictures it wasn't really the jewelry that got my attention but I LOVED loved loved the white hair! Wow!
I know we have seen that around but it's rare that I really like it. I just don't think it's an easy look to pull off... but this girl makes it happen, she looks like an elf... like from another planet!
I wish I would dare to do my hair like that....

[ ... in CHAINS ]

I've always admired the jewelry of BLISS LAU... not even sure what's the definition of their work because somehow it's more than "just jewelry", sometimes it's more like "jewelry clothes".... a necklace is not just a necklace but a body-chain-piece-of-art, a ring not just a ring but a fusion with bracelets....
Anyway, I think their pieces are unique & beautifully constructed!
This "ring/bracelet" looks very wearable & a great piece for my collection!

[ YSL ]

Did you know already, Mariacarla Boscono is the new star of YVES SAINT LAURENT's Spring '12 ad campaign.
(I loved her so much in the Givenchy ads!)
Above check out the exclusive, previously unreleased images, shot by David Sims in London.

Talking of YSL....
Since this summer I'm having an eye on the new bag collection "Chyc" with Yves Saint Laurent’s signature “Y” closure in gold..... and so far this is my absolute favourite bag (below). I love the vintage touch, the adjustable shoulder straps, small but enough space for all the important stuff and looks good on a day and/or night outfit!

[ silent NIGHT ]

Leave it to Alison and Jamie of THE KILLS to give this classic Christmas carol a creepy turn.

With lyrics like “The moon makes me want to eat you alive,” The Kills have transformed the tune into a heartbreaking tale of love and war in this acoustic remake.
I totally love it.
Click here to listen to it.....

[ colour me ]

If you are looking for some little creative activity during the Christmas festivities, I found a little workshop for you.... so get printing the images above & get painting! That could be fun!

By the way this is the work of self-taught artist/illustrator Elli Egilsson (aka AC Bananas), born and raised in Reykjavik, Iceland. Moving to London in 2008 he wanted to explore the world beyond his chilly, familiar territory.
He designed this customised Christmas card especially for i-D. Thank you, I love it!

[ STUD BOX ]

I'm not a girl who likes "porcelain-pottery-dust-collectors" all over my house...
... but this box is quite different!
This might become a good storage for my jewelry. Neutral but still "rock'n'roll"!

[ jingle bells... ]

Merry X-mas to all of you!
Frohe Weihnachten!
Joyeux Noël!

[ take a BOW... or two ]

... and the shoes that goes with the dress.
Very unusual to find a mustard color in my closet, I hardly wear anything like that... but I love it as a small touch & I definitely love it in shiny patent leather!

Heels - BALENCIAGA

[ little treasures ]

I'm home for Christmas, in Switzerland, at my parents'. Probably the best place in the world...
I love the house I grew up in so much, I call it "my little paradise" or "my castle" and if you know by any chance the house then you know what I'm talking about ;)

Anyway, I still have my bedroom with my closets full of little & big treasures... and every time I go through it I discover stuff I'm falling in love with all over again!
Like this vintage BALENCIAGA dress. How pretty is that!! I could just hang it there & stare at it all day long!
So at least I know what I gonna wear tonight for the family X-mas dinner....

[ friday mood ]

Party last weekend at the ACE HOTEL, New York.

[ wild thing ]

I have this big crush on feather accessories....
Love this one a lot.... ISABEL MARANT "feather tassel necklace".
Which reminds me, I have to take my friend's feather earrings, super long & crazy beautiful. I'll show you in a short while.

Remember when I was so excited about the "Double Chain Ring" from Kiki de Montparnasse?
Now I found one very similar & just as nice..... and more affordable ;)

[ BLACK & WHITE christmas ]

X-mas time in New York is one of my favourite moments.... there is something magical in the air with all the amazing decorations! The whole city turns into a fairytale, this year we are just missing the snow.
In the pictures you see the window decoration taken at BERGDORF GOODMAN, probably the most fascinating one! I love the hundreds of details, everything crafted out of paper & books!
SssoooOOOooo beautiful... I could stay there forever.
